Crazy Pineapple Poker
Online Crazy Pineapple Poker
Crazy Pineapple is an unusual variation on the typical poker format. The game is generally considered to be a hybrid of both Texas Holdem and Omaha Holdem poker. Since it is not as well known as other card games, it is only available to be played at select online casinos.
Similar to many popular poker games, Crazy Pineapple can be played Hi-Lo, where the pot is split for both high hand and low hand winners. If you are familiar with any of the standard Holdem or Hi-Lo card games, you should have no trouble picking up Crazy Pineapple.
How to Play Crazy Pineapple Poker
Crazy Pineapple plays out like a regular Texas Hold’em game, however, there are slight variations on the rules that make it a unique and fun poker game within itself.
Betting in Crazy Pineapple poker is quite straightforward, and most players will already have an understanding of the methods used. Online casinos adopt the same style of betting used in Texas Holdem; this includes the forced small and big blind bets, as well as the minimum bet. The minimum bet is equal to that of the big blind in the first two betting rounds, and doubled in the final two rounds.
After the blinds have been paid the dealer will deal each player three – not two like in Texas Holdem – face down cards or hole cards. The first betting round then beings with players given the option to check, bet, call, raise or fold depending on their table position. Three face up community cards will then be dealt, also known as the flop. Before each player makes their second bet, they must relinquish one of their three cards that will leave them with only two hole cards.
The fourth community card, the turn, will be dealt next before a third round of betting begins. The final card, the river, completes the set of five community cards, and players are allowed one final opportunity to bet or fold.
The Showdown plays out exactly like a game of Texas Hold’em, where players reveal their two face down hole cards to make the best combination with the community cards. The only difference to a Crazy Pineapple Showdown will be if the game is being played Hi-Lo, in which case the pot will be split between high and low hand winners.
Crazy Pineapple is an enjoyable variation on conventional Holdem poker. The addition of an extra hole card gives players a much better opportunity at winning each hand, and Crazy Pineapple Hi-Lo takes the game to a whole new level. You can start playing Crazy Pineapple at online casinos right now.
Crazy Pineapple History
The history of Crazy Pineapple is obscure at best. It formed out of the popular poker game, Texas Holdem, and shares a lot of similarities with both Tahoe and Super Hold’em. Crazy Pineapple is still relatively unknown, but is gaining steady popularity in online casinos. In 2009, the Crazy Pineapple World Championship was held in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. The winner, Tom Christopher, had not even intended to compete in the tournament, but ended up taking home $3,124 and the title of Crazy Pineapple World Champion.
