Online Let It Ride Poker

Let It Ride (or Let Them Ride) is a great variation on 5-card Stud Poker with a twist. It is a popular online casino game that offers players some spectacular payout odds, as well as a bonus side-bet pay table.

How to play Let It Ride Poker

Instead of facing off against a group of other players, or solely the dealer, Let It Ride is ultimately a game against yourself. You still have to create a hand worthy of winning, but, similar to video poker games, there are no other hands you must beat in order to earn payouts.

A game of Let It Ride begins with the betting round. In most online casinos a side-bet will be offered to players as well; if this wager is made then a bonus pay table opens up. The bonus payout system is similar to that of a progressive jackpot, however, all winnings are static. The following chart is from a side-bet pay table that is common across most online casinos:

  • Royal Flush: $30,000
  • Straight Flush: $3,000
  • Four of a Kind: $400
  • Full House: $200
  • Flush: $50
  • Straight: $25
  • Three of a Kind: $5

After all bets have been made, players will receive three face up cards and two face down. Depending on the strength of the three visible cards players will decide whether to Call of Fold. Calling and Folding in Let It Ride are not the same as in other variations of Poker; if the player chooses to Fold, they will not forfeit their cards, on the contrary, one of the face up cards will be revealed. If, however, they decide to Call, the original bet will be doubled.

After the second round of betting, one of the face down cards will be revealed. Once again, the player will be given the option to Call or Fold. Folding will halt any further bets, and Calling will add another wager of the same value as the initial bet.

Once the third round of betting is complete, the fifth and final card will be revealed. From the five face up cards, the best possible winning hand will automatically be created. If a side-bet has been made and a qualifying hand has been created, then players will be paid out according to the bonus pay table. Otherwise, the pay table for regular winning hands is as follows:

  • Royal Flush: 1000 to 1
  • Straight Flush: 200 to 1
  • Four of a Kind: 50 to 1
  • Full House: 11 to 1
  • Flush: 8 to 1
  • Straight: 5 to 1
  • Three of a Kind: 3 to 1
  • Two Pair: 2 to 1
  • 10s or Better: 1 to 1

Let It Ride is an open-ended game that can be played any time of the day for as long as the player wishes. Since there are no other participants to contend with or dealers to beat, you can sit back, relax, and win yourself up to $50,000 per hand.

Let It Ride Strategy

There is a very specific strategy involved in Let It Ride, and it will help newer players to learn what cards to Call on, as well as when to Fold. The second and third betting rounds are the two times when strategy should be implemented; this is because the second round of betting occurs after the cards are dealt, and the third round after the fourth card is revealed.

After the initial three face up cards are dealt you should only “let it ride” (or Call) when you have the following: Tens or Better, or Three of a Kind; three to a Flush, Straight Flush, or Royal Flush; or three to a Straight.

When the fourth card is revealed you should only “let it ride” when you have: Tens or Better, Three of a Kind, or Two Pair; four to a Flush, Straight Flush, or Royal Flush; or four to a Straight.

Strategy is often best to work out for yourself, as everyone has their own unique playing style. Once you have played a few rounds of Let It Ride you will find that you are already strategizing on which hands to Call or Fold. Strategy should be built around experience.
